1. The artwork I think was my most successful was my Tile. I just liked what I did with it and if I could do it again I would. I can also say that this was my favorite piece so far. I also liked how the colors turned out. 2. The project I think I overcame the most obstacles was the Box. I had slowed down while working on it, I messed up a lot on my slabs where a couple came out really uneven, and since I was slow, the deadline was coming closer and closer. It was my own fault that I was working slow, but I did get back to it, fixed my slabs and everything. So, I think that's a lot of obstacles that I handled. 3. The pieces I think show my growth as an artist are my Tile and Sphere projects. I think these do because the mediums may have been required, but I still had to go in almost not sure if I would do things right. For the tile, we did slabs before with the box, but this time we had to carve instead of putting them together to make boxes. Then with my Sphere, we had done pinch pots last year, but as I said it was a year ago and I didn't completely remember from then. Anyway, these helped me grow as an artist by helping understand some different ways of working with clay. 4. Some frustrations I have in only working with clay is that with me for sure, (I'm not sure about others) I have only worked with clay once and that was last year when we worked on pinch pots. It felt kind of weird when using clay, but now I'm starting to get used to it. A positive with clay is that there so many possibilities when using clay such as, slab building, coil building, and more. |
